    Open Graph Preview

Preview how a link looks on Facebook, X and LinkedIn before you share it, and check your image size.

Runs in your browser: nothing you type is uploaded.

    Your Open Graph tags

The image stays on your device. We can't load pictures from other sites, so pick the file you plan to publish.

These are close mockups, not screenshots. Each platform changes its layout from time to time and keeps old tags cached until it re-scrapes the page.

    Checks

    • Add an og:title: without it platforms guess from the page, often badly.
    • No og:description. Some cards show only the title and domain.
    • Add og:url: the full canonical address of the page.
    • No image picked. Links with no og:image usually show a bare, text-only card.

    How to use it

    1. 1

Enter your og:title, og:description, og:url and site name.

    2. 2

Pick the image file you plan to use as og:image. It stays on your device.

    3. 3

Compare the three cards, and switch X between a large and a small image.

    4. 4

Fix anything in the checks list, then generate the final tags with the Meta Tag Generator.

    Why it matters

Open Graph tags aren't a ranking factor, but they decide what a shared link looks like. A bare card with no image or a cropped headline gets fewer clicks than a clean one, in social posts and in messaging apps that read the same tags.

Most broken previews are image problems: a relative path instead of a full address, a file behind a login, or artwork that is cut off at the edges. Checking size and shape before you publish catches them while they're cheap to fix.

Platforms keep the tags from their first look at a URL. If a card went out broken, fix the page, then ask Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector to fetch it again.

    Frequently asked questions

What size should an Open Graph image be?

Use 1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 shape. Facebook recommends at least 600 × 315 pixels for the large card, and anything under 8 MB.

Does X use Open Graph tags?

Yes. X reads its own twitter:card tag first, then falls back to your Open Graph title, description and image.

Why isn't my link preview updating?

Facebook, LinkedIn and others cache the tags from the first time they saw the URL. Re-scrape the page with Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector.

Why can't I paste an image URL?

To keep this tool private and secure it only shows images you pick from your device. Choose the same file you'll upload to your site, then use its public address in the og:image tag.

Do Open Graph tags help SEO?

Not directly. They influence how many people click shared links, and shared links can bring visitors and mentions, but Google doesn't rank pages by their Open Graph tags.
